Hi Frank and all other Coherence devs,
just a quick note:
if you ever wondered what has come out of the KDE/Coherence sprints on the KDE
side, take a look at this recent blog entry:
http://frinring.wordpress.com/2010/02/25/metalworks-for-upnp-devices-at-
tokamak4/
Summary:
Both the network kio-slave, responsible for listing the devices connected to
the local network and the services running on them in the file manager, as
well as the hardware abstraction layer Solid have been extended to list the
UPnP devices as reported from Coherence.
Code for access to the UPnP devices/services, like to the MediaServer, is
still missing, so effectively the current stuff is useless, oh well.
But hopefully with people now seeing what they could access their desire might
increase and drive some to also write code for that :)
So be prepared for people coming to stress the D-Bus interface a little
more... :)
Cheers
Friedrich
