Dominik, you are absolutely right!
The pre-buffering is done when proxy_mode is 'buffered' or 'cache'.

'redirect' is for devices or clients that do proper pre-buffering
themselves. 'proxy' isn't actually that useful, only for devices that
can't do a direct connect to YouTube and additionally to pre-buffering.

Oz, you should get a better playback experience after changing
your config as mentioned above.

That 'None' error I've seen myself too, but haven't had a chance
yet to track that down. I had the impression that it was a
temporary YouTube fault. It would be great if you could open
a ticket with some more details.
