[coherence-dev] Is Coherence something I can use?

Hi!
I have a "dream setup" of how I would like to have media organized and
used at home. It seems that Coherence might be one piece of the
puzzle, but I am still a bit confused.
So here is how I would like to have things setup:
Devices:
* an HTPC connected to my TV and stereo
* two laptops
* one network-drive that is very seldom powered on
I want the HTPC to show media through some kind of media center
software (Elisa looks nice). That means that I want it to show movies
on the TV, but I also want it to play music through the stereo.
With the laptops I want to be able to remote control what is played on
the tv and stereo (I have solved remote controlling the stereo using
mpd right now, but I feel limited by it).
I would also like to be able to play anything on the HTPC on the
laptops (using, say Totem or Rhythmbox), and vice versa (if I
download/rip something to the laptop it would be nice to be able to
play it directly in the media center without having to transfer it to
the media storage on the htpc).
Is this setup possible to create with coherent? I understand if there
are parts still missing, but I am mainly interested in knowing whether
I have understood what coherent can and can't do.
